HOME THEATER & HOME OFFICER
Homes aren’t just where we eat and sleep anymore. Home is often where we work, entertain, relax and enjoy precious family time together – and since our recent conversion to digital television, a whole home theater/home office technological revolution has begun …
This year – at the Home EXPO – Next Step Communications, Attitude Online/Computer Care, and Gary O. Furniture have teamed up to provide you with a glimpse of what your new television is, can be and will be – and how you can integrate home theater and home office with style, elegance and functionality.

Today’s television in the family room is no longer the old “boob-tube” – now, it’s digital, cellular and interactive. Next Step Communications can help you take advantage of the latest in entertainment and technology from cellular service to DISH Network and more.

Next Step Communications, locally owned and operated for 11 years, has the highest dealer ranking for a retailer with DISH Network, which means you get great service with the most knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Stop by and talk with their experts about the newest innovations including TV EverywhereTM – which allows subscribers to pay once for content, and then remain connected to their TV everywhere. “DISH Network customers will be able to enjoy their favorite live and recorded shows throughout their home and on the go – using the same program guide, menu and navigation they are familiar with on their home TV,” reported Bart Lang, the local dealer. “In addition DISH Network will now offer fully featured remote DVR scheduling for multiple receivers that can be done on your iPod touch, iPhone or laptop.” And, guess what? Soon your smart phone may even replace your remote control.
But let’s not stop there, let Stephen Nessling, owners of Attitude Online & Computer Care, continue your adventure into Tomorrow Land by demonstrating how easy it is to equip your home theater with high-speed DSL.

The living room electronics convergence – promised in the late ’90s – has finally started to materialize. Our video game consoles can now download movies; our set-top cable boxes display our friends’ “Twitter feeds”; DVD players and HDTVs stream Netflix movies and feed our home theater’s YouTube videos. And if that isn’t enough, advanced interactive television is rapidly becoming a reality – so, soon you will be able to order the pizza on that TV commercial by simply pressing a button.
And why choose a local DSL installer? Because you will receive quality service by a trusted, local professional who really cares about your business and who will save you from a lot of wasted time talking to off-shore tech support of the big phone company. Let Stephen at Computer Care help you determine the equipment you need to route your network throughout your home to gain the most from your home electronics and computer networks.
And once you have all of the toys plugged in, it’s time to convert that family room into a home theater movie palace, or create a dual purpose guest room/home office by adding a Murphy wall bed.

Gary O. Furniture has been providing area residents with unique, custom-designed décor for 30+ years. “Straight, clean lines are the trend in home offices now,” said owner Gary Osterberg. “But you can also choose a home office design that best suits your needs and style, including contemporary, modern, eclectic or transitional.”

Conserving space by creating multi-functional rooms is a great way to improve your home without a huge financial investment. Whether it’s a single desk or television console, or you want a three-wall fitted library or home theater, Gary O. Furniture can help you create the piece(s) to fit your room.
Gary O.’s display will feature American-made items. “With our current economic climate, it’s especially important that we support American industry,” said Gary. “We hope guests will stop by and learn about the many options they have available for creating the ideal home office setting or home theater unit.”
Special discounts will be available to EXPO visitors who will also have the opportunity to see samples of various woods, colors, hardware and custom features that Gary O. Furniture offers. When it comes to furnishing your home, you choose your size, your style, and your wood, stain and hardware. Then select from thousands of fabrics to ensure your new sofa or other piece is the perfect creation for your home. From a single item to a complete home, office or theater, Gary O. Furniture can help you design it right!
With football season here and plans underway for those upcoming family holiday gatherings – stop by the Home Theater & Home Office Booths at the east end of Second Avenue in the Exhibit Hall and talk to the design and technical wizards at these three companies. Because, after all, isn’t it time to upgrade the family room – if for no other reason than to impress the kids?
NEW ENERGY-SAVING TECHNOLOGIESR

The Home EXPO proudly acknowledges SolarCity – California’s #1 residential solar service provider – as this year’s Gold Sponsor. “In today’s downturned economy, there’s a real effort by merchants to go where the dollars are flowing – and that means solar,” said Steve Tarter, Show Manager. But one main reason we are quite pleased to feature SolarCity is they are the pioneers of the “Solar LeaseTM” – a concept that helps homeowners go solar for zero down and pay less each month than they previously paid for electricity from the power company.
Thousands of homeowners have turned to SolarCity for affordable solar power, including more than 800 in the greater Fresno area. The company is a one-stop shop that provides financing, custom design and installation, Internet monitoring, and maintenance out of its Fresno office.
“Solar leasing is allowing customers to start saving money immediately and use cleaner power at the same time,” said Dennis Cox, SolarCity’s regional director in the Central Valley.
“Homeowners who have looked at solar in the past and thought it was too expensive should look again. New financing options and falling panel prices have made solar more affordable today than ever before.”
Homeowners and businesses interested in learning more about “save as you go” solar should visit with SolarCity consultants at the Home EXPO located just inside the Show Entrance in the Plaza Lobby, or by calling 888-SOL-CITY (888-765-2489).

The Valley Innovative Energy Watch (VIEW) Partnership returns to the Home EXPO to present visitors with a wealth of energy-efficiency resources. Southern California Edison’s Mobile Education Unit (MEU) display will promote energy-efficiency solutions and energy management ideas. The VIEW Partnership, working side-by-side with Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, and the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization, continues to take the lead in helping homeowners become more efficient and learn about ways to pool resources that offer South Valley residents and businesses incentives and rebates.
Visitors should stop by the VIEW booth – located on Sixth Avenue in the Exhibit Hall – to learn what part they can play!
